I think the fairest thing to do regarding any pension money he may be owed is to use it to reimburse the Metropolitan Police for the money wasted "investigating" Mr. Desaei's victim, and if there's any left over it should go to help cover the bill for compensation he'll doubtless (and quite rightly) be claiming. If it was a personal vendetta then the cost of it should not be bourne by Mr. Desaei himself and not the public.

bluejacketbugler Sorry to upset you but 1, there is a Christian Police association (look up on)internet 2. Any police officer regardless of race, creed, colour, religion etc, can join any association regardless. ie White joining BPA - hetrosexual joining Gay Police association etc. Personally I think everyone does something wrong eventually - including police officers - but 4yrs for doing this. He went out with the full intention of doing a corrupt act. hummm?

@TheEndiku You obviously have a low opinion of the police if you think this was a "normal reaction". If this guy was owed money then he had every right to ask for it, however annoying this may have been to Mr. Dezaei. Powers of arrest are granted to police officers to help them fight crime, not to protect them from irritating creditors.

im not in disagreeement,, i totally agree , i wouldnt like it if someone didnt pay me my money he owed me.. But to be hoenst i dont know the whole story..but i bet he wished he paid 600
£ it cost him 4 years.. same amount of time a rapist or pedophile would get. i like the police have no probelms with them respect them.. i just heard of worst cases getting less of a charge

@TheEndiku I'm glad you don't think this was excusable behaviour from a copper. However, I think this does demand a severe sentence because of the harm done to the police's reputation. Because of Dizaei, juries will be less inclined to believe the word of honest police officers and real criminals will go unpunished.

I dont doubt that the BPA and others were born when there was heavy racism. The problem now is, attitudes have changed, but these organisations still exist and still have members, so they have to justify themselves. I think now we can see the negative side to these bodies, and the damage they do by over stating minority cases at the expense of everbody else. I dont think there is a place for the BPA and others in a modern police force. Racism can be delt with, without these organisations.

@PublicJoke Interesting input,but basically my point is there should only be one all inclusive association,of mutual respect ,not divisive, splinter groups of self interest, i doubt if any of this could happen east of Greece,south of Gib,upto Malaysia,our system ain't perfect,for sure,but equality exists,in a more democratic society,than i can see in any of areas mentioned.
